I made this little graphic for a new podcast program called, Beer, Bullshit + Brains. The forum is mainly computer geek and science related, but they start each program with a beer review.

I just wanted to grab some attention with this piece and add a little humor. I've always loved that vintage illustration style from the 40's and 50's.

I drew up this graphic for Jayhawk Taxi in Lawrence Kansas. During the civil war "Jayhawkers" were abolitionists that fought for Kansas to be a Free State.

The idea was later adopted by Kansas University as a fierce fighting predator mascot.

My daughter loves to spend time outdoors with the miniature horses at grandma's house. She is getting a lesson in bare back riding from her grandpa "Shorty". I took the reference photos for this image around 1 a.m. at The Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival in Winfield, Kansas. I spent the weekend camping, and taking photos of the festival and it's many musicians. This is a personal piece I painted for my girlfriends father. He works as a bartender for The American Legion in Winfield, Kansas. I thought the lighting was great so I snagged a couple photographs of these veterans chatting it up at the bar.

After my initial drawing of the reference photo I had to start over a couple times. I usually draw from my head so it was difficult to push my limits of realism. In the end I think it was worth the frustration.
